Unfortunately Admiral 1.1.2 had a handle-leak which would make it unstable after a while. We are sorry about that, and we have fixed it as fast as we became aware of it. Thanks goes to Jack Sparrow for reporting the bug!
Admiral 1.1.3 may be downloaded here (AdmiralSetup_113.exe (540 KB))

Today we release Admiral 1.1.2 which may be downloaded here (AdmiralSetup_112.exe) (540 KB). This is a minor upgrade with only a few changes:
- Should now support non-latin alphabets
- Quick open has parameters. Use $1, $2, $3. E.g. set alias “not” to “notepad c:\$1\$2″ activate quick-open and “not notes todo.txt” will start “notepad c:\notes\todo.txt”.
- Full-screen application recognition
- Fixed the win-L bug after we finally realized how to reproduce it.
- Hot-zones for multimonitor works better now
- Slight delay before hot-zones are actually activated
- Prefetch window contents now disabled per default.
- Other minor bug-fixes
To upgrade your existing version, simply exit Admiral, download the setup file, run and install over the existing version. Do not uninstall. If you uninstall you loose your settings.
Enjoy!

We are pleased to release Admiral 1.1.1 which may be downloaded here (AdmiralSetup_111.exe) .
This version of Admiral is a minor update to 1.1 and should feel better than 1.1. New features include:
- Prefetch of window contents — When enabled Admiral will grab contents of windows in the background so miniaturing will be much faster. It seems that there are some compatiblity problems with software like iTunes, PowerPoint, Visual Studio and others. You can disable prefetch in the miniature-settings
- Hotkey for bringing all related windows to front. If your current active window is an explorer window click the hotkey to bring all explorer windows to front. The hotkey-settings may be found under Window-management settings
- Multiple versions warning. If you try to run more than one copy of Admiral you will now get a warning.
As always we strongly encourage you to request features and report bugs to us. At the moment we are very curious about “prefetch”.
Mailing-list
There is now a mailing list for Admiral. We will post info about new versions and we strongly encourage users to post questions to the mailing list. You may subscribe to the list here

Ok, this week we have Admiral 1.1 beta 3 ready. You can download it here: AdmiralSetup11_beta3.exe. In addition to mandatory bug-fix we have added:
- Tab’ing during miniature. This is really cool. Activate miniaturization and press tab, shift-tab to move between different “groups” of windows.
- Exclusion of windows during show-desktop. This was a request, and we hope it solves some problems.
- Window-class description. Press ctrl-c to see the class of a window and exclude windows based on class.
Tab’ing
The groups are based on the name of the application of the windows. This was requested by one of our users and we hope we got it right! Thanks for that great idea!
Exclusions based on class
Some people complained that some windows should be excluded but had an empty title. Well the solution is not really to exclude all windows with empty title. Rather exclusions should occur on the name of the window-class. For instance tooltip-windows have the class “tooltip_class32″. So now you can see which class windows have by pressing ctrl-c and then inserting the class description in the exclusions list. Rather than just inserting it in the exclusions list we would be extremely happy to receive class names for silly windows that should not be miniatured; e.g. widgets in Vista. So please let us know what classes you exclude, either by writing on the forum or sending a mail. Thanks!
Once again we hope you will let us know what you think of this new version and report bugs that you find.

We are thrilled to present Admiral 1.0 which can be downloaded from our web-site here (AdmiralSetup (500 KB)).
The Admiral is a great piece of software that makes your daily life with Microsoft Windows XP a great deal easier and less frustrating. In short, the Admiral lets you:
- Miniaturize all windows for a fantastic overview of your open application. No more alt-tabbing and guessing which window you want.
- Set priorities for processes - automatically or manually. No more sloppy responses when running processor-intensive tasks in the background.
- Quickly launch programs - or even files or folders. No more searching four columns of the start menu for that lost program.
- Quick switch to windows by typing a few characters of the window name.
- Control your applications - suspend them and resume them later, kill nasty windows that won’t go away, increase or decrease application priority, temporarily set windows to always be on top.
Admiral is shareware and you have a 30 days evaluation period. The price of Admiral is 7.99$. Citizens of EU must pay Danish tax which is 25% to give a total price of 9.99$. Please check the “Buy” page for more information about buying.
Read more details about Admiral (on the right).
