Manual

Voice Alarm is a talking version of the built-in Clock application on the iPhone. Voice alarm will frequently speak the remaining time until a specified event. Voice Alarm contains speaking alarms, timers, a stopwatch, and a clock.

Setting up Alarms

A speaking alarm will tell you the remaining time until the alarm goes off at specific time intervals.

To add an alarm, tap on the alarm icon on the tab bar at the bottom of the screen and tap on the '+' button in the upper right corner of the screen

The following screen will allow you to set the time for the alarm as well as voice settings.

Select speech settings to choose between a male or a female voice and define the appointment type.

Select announcement settings to specify how often you want notifications. The 'Intelligent' settings will tell you the remaining time more frequently as the event approaches.

Save the alarm using the 'Save' button.

Turning the alarm on and off

Flip the switch next to the alarm in the alarm list from 'Off' to 'On' to turn the alarm on or vice versa. Once the alarm is on your phone will start speaking.

Editing and Removing Alarms

Edit an alarm by first tapping 'Edit' in top-left screen and then tapping on the alarm.

To remove an alarm, tap 'Edit', tap on the stop-sign, and then on the 'Delete' button of the alarm.

Creating Timers

You create timers the same way that you create alarms. Select 'Timer' from the tab bar at the bottom of the screen and tap the '+' button in the upper right corner. On the next screen you can define the duration of the timer and speech-settings.

Timers are edited and removed just like alarms.

Speaking Stopwatch

The stopwatch is selected by tapping the `Stopwatch` tab on the tab bar. The speaking stopwatch will notify you about the elapsed time every time a specific time period has passed.

You may choose between a male and a female voice and the announcement-interval can be set under 'Announcements'.

Tap 'Start' to start the stopwatch. You can pause the watch by tapping 'pause' on the next screen.

Speaking Clock

The clock screen is selected by tapping the 'clock' tab on the tab bar. The clock will tell you the current time whenever a specific time period has passed, and is controlled in the same way as the stopwatch.

Changing volume

Use your iPod or iPhone's volume control buttons while Voice Alarm is speaking. If you are using the iPod music player, you can only do this while Voice Alarm is speaking. Use the 'Announce now' button to force Voice Alarm to speak. To change the volume relative to the iPod music player, change the volume while the iPod is not not playing. I.e. pause the iPod, return to Voice Alarm, change the volume, and restart the iPod.

Closing the application

The application will keep running even if you lock the iPhone. You can also have the iPod music playing concurrently. However, if you exit Voice Alarm you will not recieve notifications. This is due to current limitations in the iPhone software development kit.

Thank You
